Giving Back to Vermont
and our Greater Community

We believe healthy pets build healthy communities. That's why one of our core values
is community engagement. At Richmond Animal Hospital, we care about
our neighbors.  We are all in this together!

Why Community Matters to Us

Richmond Animal Hospital has been part of this community since 1989. With new ownership in October of 2025, we're committed to building relationships not just with our clients, but with Vermont and the entire our local community.

When you choose Richmond Animal Hospital, you're supporting a practice that invests in the community you know and love and people you can count on.

On Saturday, we had so much fun welcoming 6 “mini veterinarians-in-training” to our first free pop-up Teddy Bear Clinic held at Richmond Animal Hospital!

It was heartwarming to see the joy and excitement on the kids' faces as they enjoyed such a unique, personalized experience with their families. By keeping our event to just 6 participants, we ensured that each child received the special attention they deserved.

During our event, we listened to Abe’s heartbeat with the stethoscope, met our clinic cat, Scout, and read the book *A List of Love*, written and illustrated by local author, Brittany Adams and narrated by Dr. Fritz. Then, families were given a tour of our hospital by Dr. Sherman, and finally, kids gowned up with gloves and masks as Dr. Fritz performed surgery to fix their stuffies, while Dr. Sherman casted them!

Our time ended with donuts from Quality Bake Shop and juice boxes, and each participant was given a Richmond Animal Hospital t-shirt, an RAH coloring book, and a copy of the book we read!

As a clinic and a family, we deeply value community engagement and strive to create meaningful connections with our local families. Events like these allow us to foster relationships, share our passion for veterinary care, and give back to the community that supports us. It’s inspiring to see families come together, and we look forward to creating more special moments in the future at our clinic.

A special thank you to the families that joined us, to the kids who brought their best listening ears and curious selves, and to Dr. Fritz for bringing this idea to us from her vet school experience!

How We Give Back

We believe in giving back, and that starts with our team. Every Richmond Animal Hospital staff member receives 30 hours of paid volunteer time annually to support causes they care about.
